What do you like about general surgery?
It's never boring and a great combination of talking to people and operating on them when you can't talk to them. I love the teamwork and coordination between surgeons, other disciplines and interdisciplinary services. You can't get away from it.

Community Surgery

What is your research interest?
Education & wellness research - Masters of Arts in Education during residency

What do you like about this program?
Ottawa has a very supportive and collegial group of staff surgeons and residents who work very hard but also know how to relax and keep interests outside of general surgery (hard to do!). The various subspecialty surgeons really help each other out. The city is a great place to live with a combination of urban and outdoor activities that's hard to beat.

What do you do outside of work?
Cooking/baking, reading, road biking, camping
