Recruitment and Selection
program goals
We seek well-rounded candidates with the attributes needed for a career in general surgery. Strong candidates typically demonstrate solid medical knowledge, high-quality rotations in surgery and related fields, favorable letters of recommendation, research or scholarly activity, teamwork, leadership, and a genuine interest in a career in general surgery. We value teachability, humility, maturity, technical aptitude, sound clinical judgment, clear communication, self-directed learning, a strong work ethic, compassion, and resilience.
Selection goals
We aim to train exceptional Surgeons who will go on provide outstanding patient care, advance innovation across the clinical and non-clinical domains of General Surgery, and carry forward a deep sense of pride and professionalism in their chosen practice. We are also dedicated to treating our trainees with respect and nourishing a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

We are offering 7 residency positions this year:
Canadian Medical Graduates – 5 positions
Canadian Medical Graduates, Bilingual Stream – 1 position
International Medical Graduates – 1 position\
